Shu Swamp Preserve
Please join Huntington-Oyster Bay Audobon Society in helping to restore one of the finest preserves on Long Island. Come to the swamp for this fun and worthwhile effort. Snacks will be provided to the volunteers. Bring garden gloves if you have them; wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.
Directions: From Route 25A in East Norwich, take Route 106 north to Oyster Bay. Make left on to Lexington Ave then another left on to West Main Street. At the Mill Pond (on the left), bear to the right as if to go to Bayville. At first traffic light (water will be on your right) make a left onto Cleft Road. Take Cleft Road to Frost Mill Road, make a left. (If you wind up on the causeway going over Beaver Dam, you have gone too far.) Shu Swamp will be on your right after you go under the train trestle.
Registration a must: 631-219-4795.
Please join Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society at 9am at one of the best places to see migrating raptors on LI. Great viewing platform with some of the birds flying by at eye level always has expert hawk watchers to answer any questions you may have. Exploring the surrounding areas should turn up other migrants as well as possible rarities.
Directions: Proceed south on Robert Moses Parkway, over the bridge to Robert Moses State Park. From the water tower circle (check for PG), proceed East to parking lot #5. We will meet in the NE corner of the parking lot.

Please join us as we clear the trails at Underhill Preserve in Jericho. Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided. This is a great chance to explore this preserve which is closed to the public. Please be forewarned that we will be bushwacking through heavy brush, dress accordingly. This is always a fun day, whacking and hacking our way through the brush with loppers and saws! Registration is required, please call (516) 695-0763
